This week in science # 12

Spider Observation Log
This week In science I did an observation log. In the observation  log we did background research on the cellar spders. Also we wrote inputs and outputsa of cellar spiders. A producer, consumer and decomposer game. In the producer, consumer and decomposer game we put the animals in order from producer -> primary  -> secondary -> tertiary. Also I did a practice regions packet. In the Practice regions packet we answered question that were on the regions. Most of the question were easy because in 8th grade I was in a regions class and we were taught these things to be prepared for high school.

I learned autotroph is self energy, Heterotroph is other energy, commensalism is one organism benefit but the other is not affected. Mutualism Both animals benefit from eachother. Parasites benefit at the expense of the other animal. Also I learned that cellar spider could eat other spiders. Another thing I learned about was energy pyramids, food chains and food webs.

This week in Science 11

What We Did- This week in science we went to Seward Park and collected thing for our Spider Habitat. Also I took pictures of things in Seward Parks Ecosystem. You can see a few of the pictures I took above. Another thing I did this week in science is Write down things we know about Plant cells, Carbon Cycle, Water Cycle, Food Chain Producer, decomposer, ecosystem and Photosynthesis.
What I learned- Spiders might want to eat oranges, leaves dirt and soil. I also learned Carbon cycle is a  series of processes  through carbon atoms. Humans disrupt Carbon cycles. All living things are made of carbon cycle.

This Month In Science

This month in science we Chose either to be in water, energy, transportation or waste. I chose to be in the water group because we need water in our everyday lives. This month in science we did a Community Impact Survey. The Community Impact Survey is we went out in the Neighborhood and asked people in the community about 10-12 questions. I was so surprised that some people didn't have TV's. Our slogan is Water is THE source of life. This month in science were also gonna make T-shirts with our Slogan and Image to go with it.

This month in science I learned 97% of water on this earth is dirty,2% is in glaciers and the 1% is drinkable. Also this month I learned that I would've thought that certain people people waste water. I also learned that some people could live with out a TV and Computer. I learned that school water was the cleanest

This Month in Science

What I did- This Month in science I did  Zoology of the future Introduction, Biome Landscape and A Lake Biome Project. My Grouped and I worked on this project everyday that we had. I did the climate slide. I also did the location slid. Another slide I did was the before and after slide for when the climate changed for my animal. An ahhaa moment was all the different animals in my group and the class.

What I Learned - I learned how to make a screen-cast video. Also I learned what a primary and secondary source is. Another thing I learned was what a biome is.

Human Impact Ad Campaign

This Picture below is signifying that water is THE source of life so don't pollute or do anything harmful. Also you need water to live. Another thing Water is used for is to Take a shower, brush your teeth stay cool when it's hot and more etc.

This Week In Science #9

What I Did This week in science I dissected A frog and mouse. We also drew the dorsal, ventral and anterior view of the frog, mouse, skate and perch. We Talked about if we ever had previous experience with dissecting or if this was our first time. Some said yes and some said no previous experience. I never dissected any thing until this year.

What I Learned I learned how to Dissect a frog and mouse. A aha moment was when Kendry did not no how to cut the frogs six pack and it almost squirted on him and Kasheem. Also I learned how to Figure or whether a mouse or frog was a male or female. If the frogs thumb is big its a male, If it's not it's a female.Another thing I learned that I never knew was frogs have abs which is similar to humans.

Structures And Functions
Two organism that was dissected at my table was the frog and the mouse. Three structures that function similar that appeared differently was the heart, lungs and the gallbladder.

This Week In Science #8

What I Did- This Week In Science I Dissected a Cricket. An Aha Moments was when Right Before We Dissected the Cricket Melenie was not scared but when She smelled it and looked at it she did not wanna dissect it anymore. I Dissected something for the first time.

What I Learned- I Learned how to Dissect things, some things are dissected with a scalpel and some are with dissecting scissors. This week in science I Learned What Dorsal, Ventral, Proximal, Anterior.
